Traditional lead-acid batteries have served motorcycles for decades, but they also bring familiar limitations. They add weight, gradually lose charge during storage and may require more frequent replacement or maintenance.
These issues become more visible in powersports applications. Motorcycles, ATVs, UTVs and snowmobiles may remain unused for extended periods, operate in cold or wet environments, or demand high starting current from a compact battery compartment.
LiFePO4 technology offers a different approach. The LPS Series is designed to provide high-rate cranking performance with lower weight, low self-discharge and integrated electronic protection. LOKITHOR states that the batteries can be up to 50% lighter than selected comparable lead-acid batteries.

The LPS7-3 is the smallest model in the range. Its compact dimensions and 400A cranking current make it a practical option for scooters, dirt bikes and lightweight motorcycles where installation space and battery weight are important.
It is designed as a lithium replacement for selected compact batteries, including BTZ5S, BTZ7S, YTZ7S, YTX4L-BS and other compatible sizes.
With 600A cranking current and 5Ah capacity, the LPS14-5 covers a broader range of standard motorcycles, adventure motorcycles and selected ATV applications.
Its replacement range includes selected YTX9, YTX12, YTX14, YTZ10S and YTZ14S battery sizes, making it one of the most flexible models in the lineup.
The LPS20-8 increases the capacity to 8Ah and the cranking current to 900A. It is intended for larger motorcycles, touring bikes, cruisers, UTVs and other vehicles that require stronger starting performance.
Compatible replacement sizes listed by LOKITHOR include selected YTX20, YTX20L, YTX20HL, BTX20L and GYZ20-series batteries.
The LPS30-14 is the largest and most powerful model in the series. It provides 14Ah capacity and 1500A cranking current for large-displacement motorcycles, premium touring models, trikes and demanding powersports applications.
Its listed replacement range includes selected YTX30, YTX30L-BS, YIX30L and BTX30L battery sizes.

Each LPS battery incorporates a battery management system designed to supervise battery operation and provide protection against abnormal electrical conditions.
This electronic protection is particularly important for LiFePO4 starting batteries, which need to deliver high current during engine cranking while also avoiding excessive discharge, charging abnormalities and unsafe operating conditions.

Instead of using only one fixed positive and negative terminal position, the LPS Series features dual positive and dual negative terminals.
